Bachelor in mathematics.

Course contents

Special curriculum consisting of literature relevant to the master's thesis to be written. Relevant literature is selected by the supervisor, and the subject is done as self-study under supervision.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, the student should be able to

  • explain central concepts and the connections between them

  • formulate and prove key results in the area of study

  • solve problems related to the theory

Teaching methods

Self-study under supervision. The course has an expected workload of around 400 hours.

Evaluation

The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.

Assessment methods and criteria

Two oral individuale exams. Oral 1 counts 40 % and oral 2 counts 60 %. Graded assessment.
