Course contents
The course provides insight into work related to artistic projects, network building and knowledge about the market, as well as legal and financial aspects connected to film production. The students will get work experience with programming for, and planning of, film festivals, and with formulating and presenting film projects.

Economics: taxes, VAT, budgeting, accounts

Network building and interaction between different forms of art and cultural expression

Marketing, distribution and sales within the film sector

Knowledge about the industry and the institutions

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course the students shall:

Have knowledge about how the market mechanisms create possibilities and challenges to the work process from idea to distribution

Have an overview of what is required when organizing artistic projects like festivals and the like
Examination requirements
The attendance requirement as described in the semester plan must be met and approved.
Teaching methods
The teaching is organised as seminars and workshops. A large part of the work will have the form practice at enterprises and institutions in the film sector.
There is a mandatory attendance requirement of 80 % in practical teaching and exercise work. The details will be described in the semester plan.
The workload is estimated to about 270 hours.
Evaluation
The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1.
Assessment methods and criteria
- A portfolio (60 %). Details regarding content and form will be given when the semester starts.
- An oral presentation (40 %).
