Prerequisites

Minimum 60 ECTS credits within the programme must be passed.

Recommended prerequisites

It is strongly recommended to have completed Internship (KOM402) and Philosophy of Science and Qualitative Research Methods (ME-416) before continuing to Master's Thesis.

Course contents

The master’s thesis may have a social scientific or human scientific orientation. The content may normally be an empirical material from a public or a private activity, but also emphasis on theoretical problems may be of current interest.

 

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of the course, students should
- have knowledge and skill to accomplish an independent research and development-project
- be able to produce new knowledge and research based information
- be able to choose and use adequate researching methods on a professional problem

 

Examination requirements

  • an oral presentation (short lectures) about the work and discovery in the master's thesis must be passed before being eligible to the final examination

  • students must have attended the compulsory supervision (2 tutorial meetings)
