Course contents

During a period of 6 weeks students are staying in an organization or a company where they attend to the ongoing communication work. The stay will be quality assured both by the lecturer and a supervisor from the current company. The practice period will provide academic focus and might provide material to the Master's thesis.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of the practical training period, students should

  • have insight in the practical training related to the communication work in a relevant organization, included the processes, routines and methodologies that form the basis for the assignments

  • be able to carry out some of these assignments themselves, and to outline the organizational and social circumstances that contextualize these assignments and processes

Examination requirements

Practice must be approved by the internship workplace. In order to pass the course students must have no more than 10% of absence during their practice period.

Teaching methods

Practice with supervision. The workload is estimated to about 270 hours.

Evaluation

The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1.

Assessment methods and criteria

Practice report, 6-8 pages. Passed/Failed
