Course contents

The tuition gives a basic introduction to work with sound media and moving pictures, use of recording equipment and editing of sound and video.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of the course, students should

- know about the principles for work with sound media and moving pictures

- know about basic narrative skill for radio, movie and TV

- be able to produce and edit the records by means of digital equipment

- be able to make recording session using a professional video camera under different conditions

- be able to edit video material and add voicecover, by using digital editing equipment according to the standard

- be able to analyze and reflect theoretically on the current media’s genre

Examination requirements

Passed four compulsory assignments. Instructions will be given in Canvas.

Teaching methods

Lectures, seminars, instructions and practice. The workload is estimated to about 400 hours.

Evaluation

The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1.

Assessment methods and criteria

A practical-based project assignment in group (counts 50%)
An individual written exam (2-hours)(counts 50%)
