Teaching methods

The teaching consists of lectures, group work, theoretical and practical work. The winter course and parts of the outdoor activities will be conducted as separate courses away from campus. Digital tools are used by both teachers and students where it is natural. Otherwise, student-active tasks are used, such as planning and carrying out activity days.

Estimated student workload in the course is iapprox. 800 hours. Teaching is compulsory. A minimum of 80 per cent attendance is required for the practical teaching. A minimum of 70 per cent attendance is required for other instruction.

15 days of practice is included for primary and lower secondary school teacher students. Other students will perform a didactic work of similar scope.

Practice requires 100% attendance. See Praksis GLU (practice GLU).

Evaluation

The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.

Offered as Single Standing Module

Admission Requirement if given as Single Standing Module

Course students:

Admission requirements are completed teacher education.

Assessment methods and criteria

The examination is divided into two parts:

  1. A graded six-hour individual, written exam in physiology (part 1) and anatomy and movement theory/biomechanics (part 2). Weighted 50%.

  2. A graded three-day individual home exam in didactic topics and practical experience. Weighted 50%.
