Course contents

International and Norwegian history and basic characteristics during the period from ca. 1900-2000.

Learning outcomes

Upon course completion students will

  • have acquired an understanding of the time period as well as general insight into economic, political and cultural developmental characteristics of European and Norwegian history during the period from ca.1900 to 2000

  • have familiarity with central problem areas in this field

  • have developed their abilities for scholarly reflection

  • be able to apply their knowledge in written presentations

Examination requirements

For students in the teacher education: The practice period must be completed and passed.

All other students: A preliminary test must be passed.

Teaching methods

The course is given as lectures. Lectures (start-up after examination in HI-113). Practice for teacherstudents.. The workload is estimated to 270 hours.

Evaluation

The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.
