- Position, speed, acceleration, Newton's laws.
- Work and effect.
- Mass center, amount of movement.
- Angular velocity, angular acceleration, moment of inertia, force momentum, spin (angular momentum)
- Conservation laws for energy, momentum and spin.
- The laws of thermodynamics.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this course, the student should:
- have a broad knowledge of basic topics in physics such as position, velocity and acceleration and related movement in the plane and space for point particles and rigid bodies.
- have a broad knowledge of forces and central laws related to movement: Newton's laws, the law of conservation of motion, energy and spin.
- have basic knowledge of thermodynamic concepts and principles.
- have basic knowledge of the use of ICT as an auxiliary tool in physics.
- be able to use fundamental laws of physics to analyze engineering problems.
Examination requirements
Compulsory exercises/project. Information about compulsory assignments will be given at the start of the semester.
Teaching methods
Lectures and laboratory exercises/project.
The workload for the average student is approximately 200 hours.
