  • The environment's unique character and tolerance level.

  • The development of society, people's lifestyles and relationship to the environment.

  • Nature as an arena for health and recreation.

  • Outdoor activities and public health

  • The natural environment as a resource for tourism / business development.

  • Environmental management.

 

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of the course, the student will have:

  • theoretical knowledge about the tradition of Norwegian outdoor activities and its development

  • knowledge about the Norwegian cultural inheritance

  • knowledge about the purpose and be conscious of the responsibility when outdoor activity is a part of teaching, health, development and experiences for different target audiences

Teaching methods

Teaching will mainly be given at the UoA campus, and will be followed by field trips. There may possibly be short excursions.

The student's work load is estimated to 270 hours.

Evaluation

The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.
