Course contents

Modern French literature. Literary theory and history. Text analysis. An introduction to French society and the French-speaking world.

Learning outcomes

Upon their completion of the course, students will have acquired knowledge about modern French literature.They will have the ability to analyse and place texts in a historical and social context. Students will also have acquired knowledge of contemporary France and the French-speaking world. The course aims to further improve students´ ability to understand and express themselves in French, both orally and in writing.

Examination requirements

For major students: two oral presentations: one in litterature and one in culture. Two assignments: one in literature and one in culture.

For students on integrated teacher training programme with master´s degree: passed practice

Lectures and seminars.

Evaluation

The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1.

Portfolio with two written assignments (one in literature and one in culture). Assessment: Pass/Fail.
