The course will normally be taught in Norwegian.Course contents
Introduction to energy. Introduction to writing reports. Learning to observe and measure quantities related to energy. Basic digital analysis of measured data. The laboratory work will include experiments with both electric and thermal energy.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student should

know how to present experimental work and results in a written report
Examination requirements
All laboratory exercises must be completed, and all mandatory reports must be approved. An overview of the exercises and number of reports will be communicated to the students through the digital learning platform Canvas at the start of the course.
Teaching methods
Lectures, laboratory work and writing of reports. The students will be divided into groups for the laboratory work and report writing.
Expected workload for the average student: 200 hours.
Evaluation
The study program manager decides, in cooperation with student representative, the form of student evaluation and whether the course is to have a midway or end of course evaluation in accordance with the quality system for education, chapter 4.1.
Assessment methods and criteria
Portfolio assessment based on the reports from the lab exercises. Type of grading: Pass/fail.
