The course is connected to the following study programs

  • Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Bachelor's Programme

Teaching language

Norwegian or English

Recommended prerequisites

ELE112 Design of Digital Electric Circuits, ELE216 Analog Electronics og ELE217 Microcontrollers and Control Systems

Course contents

Practical and theoretical knowledge of project management, risk assessment and implementation of an electronics project. The electronics project may be directed towards topics in analog and digital electronics, but should include items such as "embedded control systems", "remote control over wireless data link" and simple PCB design. The project should be developed as an integration of microcontroller and analog / digital components. Development of ASIC / FPGA components can replace the use of the microcontroller.

Aspects such as privacy, safety and security should be considered.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of the course, the student should have good knowledge in the implementation of electronics projects, both theoretical and practical. This includes the design, documentation and implementation of an electronics project.

Examination requirements

Some compulsory activity. Information about the compulsory activities will be given in Canvas at the start of the semester.

Teaching methods

Independent project work in groups, adapted with mentoring. Lectures in selected topics.

Estimated workload for the average student is 27 hours per credit.

Evaluation

The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.

Assessment methods and criteria

Project work carried out in groups. The project work includes a preparatory study report and project report. The groups also have to include a written statement of the division of labour in the group. Individual, graded assessment. Compulsory oral presentation of the project in plenary.
