- Search for documents in the library's database Oria
- If you can't find the document in "My library", you can try "Norwegian academic libraries".
- For help, you can read a general search guide.
- You can find documents placed on open shelves yourself.
- Documents placed in stacks are found by UiA Help or you can make a request in Oria.
- If you find a book you want to borrow in Oria, note the location on the shelves, for example "UBA/KRIS 839.8209 Ibs". The book is labeled "839.8209 Ibs" on the back cover.
- Click "Locate" to see approximately where the book is located in the library.
- Read digit by digit on the shelf! If you see "839.82", move on. If you see "839.821", you've gone a little too far.
- The books are organized by numbers from the Dewey Decimal Classification System. This page provides an overview of the categories.

The transcription mainly follows the American system developed by the Library of Congress. There are exceptions:

Find
- You can find documents placed on open shelves yourself. Documents placed in the depot (Magasin) are found by UiA Help or you can make a request in Oria.

How to order
You can order:
- If the document at your own library department (Grimstad/Kristiansand) is on loan.
- If the document at your own library department (Kristiansand only) is placed in closed storage in the depot.
- If the document is registered at another library department or library.
NB! You cannot order documents that are available at your own library department. Please see the section "Find".
NB! If you want to have books sent to your local library, use Library Search. See information under "Distance learning".
How to log in to Oria
- If you can't find the right document, you can fill in an empty form in Oria, click on "Order" at the top of the screen and register the correct reference.
- When the desired document is ready to be be picked up at the library, you will receive a message via email or SMS.
