Newspapers and news magazines are available in the library or online.

Printed material

The University Library offers a selection of local, regional and national newspapers. In addition, we have several Norwegian and international news magazines.

Newspapers

Electronic

  • Atekst ((Norwegian newspapers, some Swedish)
  • InfoMedia (Denmark)
  • PressDisplay (International newsstand, limited archive, for PC)
  • PressReader (International newsstand, limited archive, same as PressDisplay. Is an app for mobile phone or iPad)
  • ProQuest News and Newspapers (The Guardian 1821-2003, The Observer 1791-2003, and The New York Times 1851-2017)
  • Nasjonalbibliotekets Avis-database Access only on the library premises. Contact the UiA Help desk for login. Access is valid for one day at a time. Here is an overview of what type of access the individual newspapers have. 

You can also gain access to the newspaper database by applying for access to publicly available material at the national library: 

1. www.nb.no/tilgang Select "Access for research and documentation". Next, students select "Visiting your library...". Log in with UiA Feide or ID-port and apply for access at the University Library of Agder. Academic staff do not need to apply for access.
2. Go to the UiA Help desk and ask employees to grant access.
3. You will then have access to the library's premises for 8 hours.

ACM Digital Library
ICT. Access to journal articles, conference publications and standards from ACM.

Ebsco EJS
Access to approximately 300 journals.

Emerald
150 important journals in management, administration, marketing, etc.

Idunn 
Access to articles from 41 of Gyldendal Akademisk, Aschehoug and Universitetsforlagets journals, as of 2004.

IEEE Xplore
Access to journal articles, conference publications and standards from IEEE and IEE . Technology, with an emphasis on ICT.

JSTOR
Electronic journal archive that provides online access to approximately 800 key journals. Coverage from the first year, but not to the last year.

Lippincott
Access via OvidSP. For access to full text, see the link Ovid Full Text (not Full text) at the references.

Project MUSE
Journals in the humanities and social sciences from American university presses

Psycarticles
Full text journals from the American Psychologist Association in addition to some other publishers. Several key psychology journals

Sage Premier
Full-text articles from approximately 650 journals in social sciences, medicine, humanities, etc.

ScienceDirect
Access to articles in full text from 1995 onwards. Applies to the approximately 2000 electronic journals in ScienceDirect.

Springer Link
Access to full-text articles from 1995 onwards. Applies to the approximately 2000 electronic journals in ScienceDirect.

Taylor & Francis
Interdisciplinary with approx. 1350 peer-reviewed journals from 1997.

Wiley-Blackwell
Interdisciplinary with approx. 1350 peer-reviewed journals from 1997, some with archive access
