Democracy Week: The European Conference on Democracy and Human Rights 2024

 This year's topic is "Sustain and Defend Democracy and Human Rights in Europe 2024"

In collaboration with the Council of Europe and several other partner organizations, UiA and Kristiansand municipality are organizing the fifth European Conference on Democracy and Human Rights on 6 May, 2024, in Kristiansand.

The conference is the main event of Kristiansand Democracy Week and will be led by Sunniva Whittaker, rector of UiA. This year's theme is "Sustain and Defend Democracy and Human Rights in Europe 2024".

The conference is divided into different sessions

10:00 – 11:00 Official opening

11:20 – 12:45 The Future of European Cooperation

13:30 – 14:40 Reparation and Justice for Ukraine

15:00 – 16:00  Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights - Setting a European Standard for the world

18:30 – 20:30 The 75th Anniversary of the Council of Europe, with participation of the National Assembly of Norway, Stortinget.  

You can choose to buy tickets for the whole program, the day program or the evening program. You can also choose to buy tickets for one single session during the day program.
