Why are you running for office?

- My main concern is that UiA should be a workplace and an educational institution we can be proud of, where everyone is taken care of and appreciated regardless of their background or position. From a board member's perspective, this means ensuring that all issues are adequately prepared and discussed and that all parties are seen and heard before important decisions are made. We must think about each employee while thinking about UiA as a whole, keeping both short-term and long-term perspectives in mind. In addition, we must consider the needs of the different faculties.

- As the current representative, I see how complex this is. I find it incredibly exciting to work with higher-level processes and believe that my experience and perspectives can make a difference.

What are the 3 most important issues you want to work for?

Work environment: - I will support the inclusion and integration of temporary employees in our professional environments, as well as long-term strategies and policy-making that contribute to a good working environment in general. It can be lonely and difficult to start a new position without a network while knowing that you may be moving on shortly. Feeling part of a community is incredibly important for both well-being and development.

Facilitating success: - Being a temporary employee often means getting new and unfamiliar tasks, sometimes at short notice. Clear information, frameworks, and clarifications are needed regarding the scope and expectations associated with the work tasks at hand. Furthermore, we should strive to be a university that scores as high on satisfaction among postdocs and PhD candidates as we already do among the students. We should aim higher when it comes to the completion rate of PhD projects and provide even more support to both candidates and supervisors.

Professional development: - Facilitating the utilization of R&D time and opportunities to participate in research groups is important, especially for our temporary employees who are not already affiliated with a research group. I am thinking specifically of temporary teaching positions. For our PhD candidates, further development and quality assurance of the university's research programs will be an important priority. There is room for even more collaboration across faculties, which can help strengthen both the individual and the community.

What qualities/competencies do you have that make your colleagues vote for you?

- I have been temporarily employed in various positions, first as a research assistant, then as a university lecturer, and now as a PhD research fellow. I have experience with board work and enjoy working with higher-level processes, organizational structure, and long-term development work. I never take assignments lightly but will spend time familiarizing myself with the different issues at hand to best contribute and ensure that our voices are heard. I am concerned with open, clear processes and particularly concerned with an inclusive working environment.
