The University of Agder condemns violations of international law and war crimes.

UiA calls for a ceasefire in Gaza, the protection of civilians, and the safeguarding of educational institutions in conflict areas.

As an educational institution, we particularly emphasize the role of schools and universities in societies worldwide. Norway has committed to the UN declaration on securing schools in conflict areas. UiA strongly urges that this declaration be respected in the current situation.

Our care and thoughts go out to all who have lost their lives, their relatives, and those now living in suffering and fear. UiA has staff and students with various connections to the region. At UiA, we want to support those of you who are directly or indirectly affected by the situation.
