The university advertised the position when it became known that the current Director of Academic Affairs, Greta Hilding, would retire during the year.

Møvig moves from her position as faculty director at UiA's Faculty of Fine Arts, a position she has held since 2021.

“I am very pleased that Hanne will be our new Director of Academic Affairs. Her extensive experience in the sector from both previous management roles and her current position at the Faculty of Fine Arts means she brings knowledge and experience to her new role that will be beneficial for UiA,” says University Director Seunn Smith-Tønnessen.

“Many exciting challenges”

Møvig has held various management positions at UiA in the years from 2005 to 2017. She was also head of the county library in Vest-Agder from 2011 to 2013, and in 2015 she led the public services at the University Library in Oslo (UiO). From 2017 until she returned to UiA in 2021, she was Library Director at UiO.

“There are many exciting challenges ahead in the education sector. We will work on more flexible programmes, increase our continuing education offerings, and not least, continue to focus on student well-being and learning environment,” says Møvig.
