Hannås was the first Vice-Rector for External Relations and Innovation at UiA and continues in the role for another term.

She is a driving force behind increased presence and transparency in community interactions in the region. She strives to achieve UiA’s vision of co-creating tomorrow's knowledge and thereby increasing the use and quality of new knowledge.

As Vice-Rector, she aims to strengthen the relevance of the university’s study programmes for work and employment, through developing RSA (council for cooperation with the labour market).

Hannås was one of the initiators behind establishing UHR-Innovation, the strategic unit for innovation at Universities Norway, and she is now a member of the unit’s working committee.

Throughout her first term as vice-rector, Hannås was a driving force behind establishing and maintaining strategic agreements between UiA and labour market actors and the community. The development and continuation of these agreements will be central in the coming period.

Hannås has also held a number of board positions in various sectors and businesses including Kristiansand Region Chamber of Commerce, Varodd, Spareskillingsbanken and Mechatronics Innovation Centre. Her experience and understanding means that she knows the labour market well and can create synergies of the increased interest society shows towards the university, within education, research and dissemination.

Hannås has a bachelor's degree from Pepperdine University (USA), a master’s degree in strategy and management from BI Norwegian Business School, and a doctorate degree in logistics from Molde University College.

Throughout her academic career, she has cooperated extensively with external partners from industry and business. Her research deals largely with value and supply chain management, procurement and contract management.
