Parking on Campus Grimstad

Parking spaces on campus are scarce, therefore we recommend choosing other means of transport to reach the campus. If you must bring your car, make sure to arrive early in order to find a parking space.

  • Add discounted parking: Find "Universities and colleges" in the menu, and select the University of Agder. You must log in with Feide to verify that you are a student/employee at UiA.

Disabled parking

Where, and number of spaces: P2 (4), P3 (1), P4 (1), P5 (3) and P6 (3).

The fine for incorrectly parking in disabled parking spaces at UiA is currently NOK 990.

Disabled parking with officially approved parking permit

UiA provides reserved parking spaces for individuals with mobility disabilities. These spaces are marked with special symbols and signs.

To park in a designated disabled parking space, a valid and officially approved parking permit must be displayed on the car's windshield or dashboard. Disabled parking at UiA is regulated by the Regulation on parking permits for mobility disabled (in Norwegian).

Disabled parking is free of charge.

Temporary disabled parking at UiA

If you have a temporary mobility disability, such as a broken leg, please contact help@uia.no to inquire about obtaining a temporary permit for using disabled parking spaces.

Electric cars - parking and charging stations

P2, P7 and P8 have parking spaces with charging stations.

Electric cars must pay ordinary parking fees. This also applies when they are parked in a space with a charging station.

Kople operates all the public charging points on campus. Please see the Kople support page for how to charge with app, RFID key or drop-in payment.

Parking spaces with charging points are reserved for cars that are being charged. After charging, the vehicle must be removed or moved to an ordinary parking space.

Motorcycles and mopeds

Motorcycles and mopeds must park in the designated motorcycle parking areas. In area P5 - in front of the main entrance to Campus Grimstad, or in the marked spaces between P1 and P3. On Campus Kristiansand, motorbikes and mopeds can park in front of the cycle parking area near the main entrance. Motorcycle parking is free.

About parking, parking fines and complaints

Parking fines

Cars parked in a manner that violates the parking rules will be fined, NOK 660 currently - or NOK 990 if the car is parked in a space reserved for movement-disabled with a parking permit.

Fining is in accordance with the national parking regulations that came into force 1 January, 2017 with additional updates – see the regulation on lovdata.no (in Norwegian).

Parking fines - complaints

UiA has engaged Apcoa as a controlling authority.

Apcoa fines violations of parking rules and is also the appellate authority.

Apcoa handles all cases about fines – meaning that all inquiries and complaints must go through Apcoa's systems. On Apcoa's website “About fines” you can also find out how to contact Apcoa's customer support centre.

If you want to make a complaint about a fine (parking ticket), it must be submitted in writing. This can be done at www.kontrollavgift.no.

See the Norwegian Consumer Council’s checklist for complaints (in Norwegian).

Apcoa's controlling activity is performed for a set cost. Income from fines and parking go directly to UiA and is used to operate the parking facilities and for environmental efforts, cf. UiA Board’s resolution in item 101/16 (in Norwegian).
