MSc level courses

All master level courses requires that students have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent in addition to the course specific requirements for admission to each course.

  • BE-409-1 Real Estate Economics – 7.5 ECTS credits; 1st term; Pre-requisites: Introduction to Microeconomics or equivalent.
  • BE-410-1 Corporate Finance – 7.5 ECTS credits; 1st term; Pre-requisites: Investment and Finance or equivalent.
  • BE-417-1 Management Control Systems – 7.5 ECTS credits; 1st term; Pre-requisites; Financial Accounting, Budgeting, Financial Management and Management Accounting, or equivalent.
  • BE-421-1 Investments – 7.5 ECTS credits, 2nd term. Pre-requisites; Knowledge of math calculus and basics of optimization, statistics, and R programming. Builds upon parallel courses: ME-431-1 Quantitative Methods in Finance and SE-419-1 Financial Econometrics.
  • BE-513-1 Practical Portfolio Management – 7.5 ECTS credits, 2nd term. Pre-requisites;  ME-431 Quantitative Methods in Finance. BE-421 Investments or equivalent.
  • BE-516 International Financial Reporting – 7.5 ECTS credits, 1st term. Pre-requisites;  BE-423 Annual accounts in accordance with good accounting practice.

  • ORG449-1 Strategy  – 7.5 ECTS credits; 2nd term; Recommended pre-requisites: Bachelor level courses in Organization Theory and Strategy, or Business Strategy, or equivalent.
  • ORG457-1 Crowdfunding Lab – 7.5 ECTS credits; 1st term. Pre-requisites: Basic understanding of marketing and entrepreneurship related themes or equivalent.
  • ORG468-1 Creative Problem Solving – 7.5 ECTS credits, 1st term.
  • SE-418-1 Economics of Incentives – 7.5 ECTS credits, 1st term. Pre-requisites: Introduction to Microeconomics or equivalent.
  • SE-419-1 Financial Econometrics - 7.5 ECTS credits, 1st term. Pre-requisites: Knowledge of calculus, basic probability calculus, basic statistics and data analysis. 
  • SE-507-1 Machine Learning with Applications in Finance – 7.5 ECTS credits; 1st term, Pre-requisites: Master level courses in ME-431 Quantitative Methods in Finance, BE-421 Investments, SE-419 Financial Econometrics og BE-511 Derivatives or equivalent, BE-510 Empirical Finance or equivalent.

 

Please note!

  • The School of Business and Law reserves the right to make changes in course offerings
  • If you select courses from one faculty and within one level (bachelor or master level) you will have less scheduling conflicts
  • Make sure that you meet the course requirements, which are stated under Recommended pre-requisites
  • Choose more courses than the minimum number of courses you have to take in case you do not meet all pre-requisites, timetable collisions or in case of cancellations
  • Course codes with the first digit 1, 2 and 3 are bachelor level courses, and course codes starting with 4 and 5 are master level courses
  • Only students on master level (fourth or fifth year) are accepted to master level courses in business at the School of Business and Law
  • Master students may take bachelor courses
  • Master level courses are taught in two sessions: 1st and 2nd term, with two 7.5 credit courses in each term. 1st term courses will have midterm examinations, and 2nd term courses will have examinations at the end of the semester
  • All courses in the lists are taught in Kristiansand.
