Student Participation

At the Faculty of Fine Arts, you as a student can get involved. Your participation is not only good for the learning environment and community at our faculty, but you get an opportunity to learn more about being elected, holding a position and strengthening your resume. Besides, you gain experience you can take with you into the working world.

There are many different areas where you can get involved. Below you will find three specific areas that belong to our faculty. On the Student Organization of Agder's (STA) website, you will find an overview of several activities and associations you can join. Check them out too!

STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES

WHAT IS A STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE

A student representative is an elected person who has gained the trust of his fellow students at the University of Agder (UiA) to represent them in processes, meetings and gatherings where the students' voice is to be heard.

As a student representative, you play an important role in the quality system at UiA.

Once you have become a student representative, remember to register at https://www.uia.no/en/student/student-representatives. Then you will receive important info and invitations.

The deadline for registering as a shop steward is:

  • Autumn: by September 9.
  • Spring: by February 20 for new student representatives.

WHAT ARE THE TASKS OF A STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE

As a student representative, you receive inquiries from fellow students. This may concern matters of a professional nature, or other cases where fellow students experience problems in their everyday lives.

As a student representative, you are the spokesperson for your fellow students on your study program, and you are the liaison between you and your institute.

EXPECTATIONS FOR STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES

UiA expects you to become involved in your role as a student representative, and to carry out the work that you have committed to.

Part of this work is to improve the studies and academic quality of UiA, by conducting evaluations.

Detailed information on student representatives can be found on STA's website
