Tekreal Thursday: A digital hub for collaboration across campuses

The Faculty is introducing "TekReal Thursday," a digital meeting point for all employees. The initiative aims to bring the campuses closer together to promote collaboration and the sharing of knowledge.

Would you like to collaborate and share knowledge across campuses? Join us for Tekreal Thursday!

 

This will take place every other Thursday and will be a short and efficient digital gathering for the entire faculty. Each session will feature a presentation lasting a maximum of 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of questions and discussion.

The responsibility for the events will rotate between departments and academic communities, and the topics will encompass both teaching and research.

The launch is this spring, and the language will alternate between Norwegian and English to include all participants.

Morten Goodwin will present on: "The Art of Proper Assessment in a World Full of Artificial Intelligence."

  • What types of exam questions are AI good at answering?
  • What types of exam questions pose challenges for AI usage?
  • If you suspect the use of AI in exam responses, what should you look for?

Thursday, May 30th, from 08:15 to 08:45:

Anne Gerd Imenes will discuss: "FME SOLAR – UiA's Role in a National Collaborative Effort for the Green Transition."

Brief description:

  • UiA is a partner in the newly established FME SOLAR, a national center for environmentally friendly energy research.
  • What is the center's purpose, why is it necessary, and how can UiA contribute?
  • The presentation will provide an overview of the planned R&D activities over the next 8 years and explore opportunities for UiA to contribute through outstanding research and education involving diverse skill sets across our departments.
