The University of Agder should be a safe place for all our staff and students, where they feel equal and included. We aspire to foster a diverse and enriching work environment at UiA.

The University of Agder should be a safe place for all our staff and students, where they feel equal and included. We aspire to foster a diverse and enriching work environment at UiA.

For students at UiA, it is important to know that the university has a legal responsibility to provide a safe learning environment and to work towards ensuring that no students experience discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, culture, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other factors. However, this is not only a legal obligation held by UiA; it is also a commitment the institution wants to uphold. It is evident, for example, in UiA's strategy that our academic culture should be diverse, and our knowledge community should be characterised by equality and inclusivity. We believe that the diversity represented by our students and staff enriches both the university and the entire Agder region.

A safe learning and work environment entails freedom from bullying, harassment, and sexual misconduct for both students and staff. UiA expects high standards of conduct, particularly concerning sexual behaviour, and be aware that UiA maintains a zero-tolerance policy against bullying and harassment. This secure work and learning environment will be maintained through a strong culture of reporting.
We at UiA work to ensure that students and staff get a safe environment that promotes growth and learning. Together, we co-create knowledge for the future.
