Areas of responsibility

Torbjørn Hekneby is an Associate Professor at the Department of Strategy and Management at the University of Agder. I teach on the Executive MBA program at the School of Business and Law and conduct research on change management in national and international organizations. I have worked as a consultant for many years, accumulating over 20 years of experience in organizational development and change management in both private and public sectors.

I graduated from the Army War College, have a degree in sports, studied organizational psychology, and completed my PhD in 2021 on the topic of implementing Lean in international process industries. I have previously worked on ethics and anti-doping issues with the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports, as well as with various elite sports environments. Initially, I served as a coach for the national men's football team and later as a coach for the national men's handball team.
