Areas of responsibility
Manisha is a PhD Research Fellow at the Department of Sociology and Social Work. Her research focuses on individuals who experienced (and are currently experiencing) frequent migration in their childhood and teenage years to understand how frequent migratory experiences impact notions of identity and belonging. Her research spans several countries and aims at providing an alternate perspective to prevailing Eurocentric narratives on so-called “Third Culture Kids”. Manisha has two Master’s degrees – one in Transcultural Studies from Heidelberg University (Germany) and another in Communication Studies from Manipal University (India). She previously worked as an Assistant Professor in Journalism and Communication at Sikkim Manipal Univeristy (India) and as a Production Journalist at Press Association.
