Areas of responsibility
Jan Inge Jenssen is a professor at the Department of Management at the School of Business and Law at the University of Agder. He holds a PhD from the Norwegian School of Economics. He also has a four year education in business and administration from The University of Agder (UiA) and a higher degree examen in administration from the Norwegian School of Economics.
Jenssen has published many papers for instance in the following journals: The International Financial Management & Accounting (IF 1.12m, Wiley), Biomass & Bioenergy (IF 3.71, Elsvier), Corporate Governance: An International Review (IF 5.7, Wiley), European Planning Studies (IF 1.33, Taylor & Francis)
Jenssen is former head of department and associate dean. He also has experience as a research assistant, researcher, associate prof. and administrative director (rådmann) of a municipality.
Jenssen advises and chair several companies. He has also been central to the startup of several companies, including a publishing house and several private schools. Jenssen also established the Center for Entrepreneurship at UiA in 2005 and was a key member of the team establishing The School of Business and Law at UiA. After the establishment, he led the daily operations of the business school for nearly two years as the associate dean. Jenssen has also been a visiting research Scholar at Oregon State University for two years.
