CeDiT has established itself as a relevant arena for discussing topics across disciplines under the overarching umbrella of “digital transformation”. With its centralized, gender-balanced leadership structure, and a combination of core and project-based funding, CeDiT demonstrates a commitment to advancing knowledge in the field and making a tangible impact on digital transformation efforts.

CeDiT aims to advance knowledge and understanding of responsible digital transformations (DTs) and their societal impact. The group's main goals include positioning itself as a center for excellent research and influencing practice and policy to promote responsible DTs. To achieve these objectives, CeDiT employs key strategies:

CeDiT researchers conduct high-quality research exploring the consequences of DTs in four thematic areas 1) Sustainability, Digitalization and Communication, 2) Governance and Government, 3) Organizational Capabilities and 4) Skills, Literacy & Learning. By disseminating findings through high-quality publications, the group contributes to academic discourse on responsible DTs. The focus area chairs are leading researchers within their fields.

CeDiT researchers has been successful in attracting research funding. Securing funding will strengthen CeDiT's position as a leading research center. CeDiT also offers arenas for discussion that can attract researchers at various levels from different disciplines in Norway and abroad. Furthermore the centre also aims to establish and strengthen collaborations with academic institutions, industry partners, and other stakeholders. CeDiT has strong researchers with international networks that facilitate knowledge exchange, access to diverse expertise, and contribute to the development of responsible DTs on a broader scale. A core aspect of CeDiTs mission is to provide a platform for its female researchers and in particular promote female PhD candidates and thus to contribute to the university goal of facilitating inclusive and equal career development.

These strategies enable CeDiT to achieve its goals, contribute to the responsible development of DTs. By offering an attractive community for researchers to discuss topics that CeDiT put on the agenda we strive to shape the field and ensure positive impact of DTs on society.
