How to create a good UiA signature

Example of a good email signature

  • Write out the university's full name – abbreviations and research groups may be unfamiliar to the recipient
  • Note that using a logo in the signature can cause it to be registered as an attachment when forwarded

How do we end our emails? There is no definite answer. Let the context determine how to phrase your signoff. 

Add an email signature

  1. On the View tab, select View Settings.  
  2. Select Accounts > Signatures.
  3. Select New signature, then give it a distinct name.
  4. Type your signature in the editing box below the new name, then format it with the font, colour and styles to get the appearance you want.
  5. Select Save when you're done.
  6. With your new signature selected from the list above the editing box, go to Select default signatures and choose whether to apply the signature to new messages and to replies and forwards.
  7. Select Save again.
