Tell us about you

I am French and I live near Paris. I currently study in a Business School in Paris in the 16^th arrondissement. During my spare time, I love reading classic books like Bel Ami or fantasy ones such as Harry Potter (they are my favourite by the way). In addition, I like pretending that I can draw, at least I dabble a little when I have the time, trying to improve my little skills.

Why did you choose Norway?

I started to be interested in Norway in high school, after an assignment about eco-suburbs and how Norwegian government acts on environmental issues. After that, SKAM and especially “Noora” helped a lot when I had to choose for my university exchange. Also, I wanted to go somewhere different beside the UK or USA.

How was your arrival? What was the first impression of the University?

My arrival was pretty interesting: lost luggage at Oslo airport for one hour and luggage found cracked and smashed at Kristiansand airport, so overall, I loved my arrival.  But honestly, I really do enjoy being here even if it is way colder than Paris (I need to get used to the snow).

The university is amazing! I actually fell in love with the buildings after watching videos of the school, it was pretty convincing; and when I got here I wasn’t disappointed.

What do you think about the quality of the University and its courses?

I like the fact that our professors are mostly professionals, so they can share genuine examples and are enabling to present an interesting lecture. After a month, I noticed the courses are quite similar in their structure to the French courses but hearing specific subjects in English makes a huge difference.

What do you like most in Kristiansand and why?

For the moment, my favourite spot is IKEA, not because I love shopping but for the views. The view from there is mind-blowing, you get an amazing view on the forest under a blanket of snow, it’s wonderful. I appreciate the yellow houses near the river, and the architecture is 'extraordinaire'.

Have you planned any trips during your stay? Where?

I planned to go to Stockholm as a birthday present trip but at the last minute my housing had been cancelled, so trip cancelled too! But I really want to go to there or Amsterdam, and to Oslo or Bergen maybe.

Je suis française, je vis près de Paris. Je suis actuellement dans une école de commerce à Paris dans le 16éme arrondissement. Pendant mon temps libre, j’aime beaucoup lire, comme des classiques comme Bel -Ami ou des romans fantastiques comme Harry Potter. J’aime aussi prétendre que je sais dessiner, du moins j’essaie quand j’ai le temps, d’améliorer mes capacités.

J’ai commencé à m’intéresser à la Norvège au lycée, après un devoir sur les éco quartiers et comment le gouvernement norvégien gère les problèmes environnementaux sur leurs territoires. Après, SKAM et précisément « Noora » ont beaucoup aidé quand j’ai dû choisir mon université partenaire. Je voulais aussi choisir une destination autre que l’Angleterre ou les Etats-Unis.

How was your arrival? What was the first impression of the University?

Mon arrivée était plutôt intéressante : j’ai perdu mes bagages à l’aéroport d’Oslo pendant une heure, et j’ai les ai retrouvés fissurés et cassés quand j’ai atterri à Kristiansand, donc j’ai adoré mon arrivée ici. Mais honnêtement, j’aime beaucoup être ici même s'il fait plus froid qu’à Paris (je dois encore m’habituer à la neige). L’université est incroyable ! Je suis tombée amoureuse de l’établissement après avoir regardé des vidéos sur l’université, elles étaient très convaincantes. Et quand je suis arrivée, je n’étais pas déçue.

What do you think about the quality of the University and its courses?

Le fait que les professeurs soient des professionnels pour la plupart est ce que j’aime le plus, car ils peuvent apporter les exemples concrets et être capable de rendre les cours plus intéressants. Après un mois, j’ai remarqué que les cours sont plus similaires aux cours en France mais les avoir en anglais, change la donne.

What do you like most in Kristiansand and why?

Pour le moment, mon endroit prefere est IKEA, pas parce que j’aime faire du shopping mais la vue. La vue est incroyable, une vue sur la forêt recouverte par une magnifique couverture blanche. J’adore aussi les maisons jaunes près de la rivière, leurs architectures sont extraordinaires.

J’avais prévu d’aller à Stockholm pour mon anniversaire, mais mon logement a été annulé à la dernière minute, donc voyage annulé ! Mais j’ai aussi envie d’aller à Amsterdam et à Oslo ou Bergen peut être.
