Upon success completion of the course, the student should be able to
Reflect on the field of comparative politics as a subfield within political science
Hva knowledge of the main theoretical debates within the field of comparative politics.
Understand the logics of comparison and comparative methods as a particular research design.
Use the comparative analytical framework to analyse a wide range of political systems and events across and within different countries
Course contents
The course gives an introduction to using comparative methods in political science and political sociology. Emphasis is attached to application of analytical models.

Lectures and group work.
Examination requirements
Before entering exams students must submit a written assignment. Instruction will be made available in "Canvas".
Assessment methods and criteria
5 hour written examination with graded assessment.
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1.
