Why two-step authentication?
Many users are exposed to frauds where they give away their passwords. This can happen by leaks from websites you have visited, weak passwords or e.g. phishing attacks.
If the username and password becomes known to unauthorized persons, they will be able to log in as you. They will have access to all the information that you have access to. For example documents in OneDrive or email correspondence. If the wrong people can access your account, it can have major damage! By adopting two-step authentication, you protect your data.
Email / calendar on mobile / tablet
If you use e-mail and calendar on mobile / tablet, you must use the Outlook-app for the security mechanisms to work on these devices.
If you are unable to log on through your authentication method(s), contact UiA Help with valid ID at hand.
If you have a Norwegian D-number (11 digits), you can reset your two-factor authentication on the button below. Log into the form in the top corner through ID-porten.
What is two-factor authentication? Two-factor authentication is an additional level of security together with username and password.
It can be compared to a door that has two locks, one key lock and one codelock, where you must have both the key and the code to open the door.
Even if the key (password) should be lost, unauthorized persons will not be able to open the door without having the code.
Why two-factor authentication? Two-factor authentication makes your data considerably less vulnerable to identity theft.
All employees at UiA have had a mandatory two-factor login since autumn 2019.
How often do you have to log in? You don't have to log in with two-factor authentication every time. Once logged in, there can be a duration of 30 days per service.
