Valid absence from an exam can be granted due to illness or other compelling reason for absence. Documentation is required to be granted valid absence, but in 2020 self-declaration can be accepted as documentation for corona-related absence.
What are valid reasons for absence?
Student or student’s children’s are sick
Death of close relative, or other with close relations to you
Funeral of a close relative or others with close relations to you
Orders from public authorities that prevent you from attending the exam
Other situations beyond your control that makes it unreasonable to demand that you attend an examination
If you have two examinations on the same day. This requires that you have passed the prerequisites
Note that the information regarding valid absence applies to examinations only. In general, valid absence does not apply on prerequisites. The prerequisites must be approved, in order to sit the examination.
Please contact your professor if you have problems finishing prerequisites within deadline.
Please use our digital absence form on the right side of the webpage. To submit the form, you must attach documentation/ self-declaration.
Submit the form within seven days after the examination date/ submition deadline, to be eligible to sit the postponed examination.
Attached doctors note must be dated on the same day as the examination/ submission deadline.
Withdrawal from an examination
If you become ill during the exam and need to withdraw from the exam, please do not submit your exam paper. All submissions will be graded.
