Mathematics teaching and learning in Teacher Education and Professional Development
Within the research area Mathematics teaching and learning in Teacher Education and Professional Development, we conduct research on pre-service and in-service mathematics teachers’ mathematics learning and their professional development. Particularly, inquiry and problem-solving approaches to teaching and learning of mathematics, are emphasised, including classroom communication as central to the development of students’ learning.
Within our group, attention has been given to algebra teaching and learning. However, our research foci comprise teaching and learning within numeracy, geometry and functions, and pre-service and in-service mathematics teachers’ teaching of these mathematical topics.
