I have studied Social Anthropology at the University of Oslo (PhD from 2011), and have done extensive ethnographic research in the Peruvian Andes for many years. I teach different topics related to global development and Latin America at the UiA, in addition to researching and writing about how humans are affected by and respond to crisis and inequality.

Research interests

My research interests include informal rural-urban economy, precarious labour and entrepreneurship, social change, gender and household, crisis, inequality and poverty, as well as human-environmental relations in the Peruvian Andes. I have also done extensive ethnographic research on climate change and water management in Peru.
