Kjell Johannes Havnevik

Professor Emeritus

Phd in development studies 1988 with focus on agricultural- and rural development, development assistance and the strategies of international financial institutions. Researcher and professor at Norwegian, Swedish and Tanzanian research institutets and universities.

Research interests

Agricultural and rural development, development assistance, the strategies of international financial institutions, food sovereignty with focus on East Africa and during the last decade also with a focus on Brazil.

Projects

Smallholder farming for sustainable development - potentials and constraints; analyses with reference to Brazil and Tanzania ( in cooperation with professor Bernardo Mancano Fernandes, the State University of Sao Paulo, UNESP).

Tanzanian agricultural and rural development strategy over time - constraints and potentials.
