Glenn Qvam Håkonsen

Assistant Professor

Glenn Qvam Håkonsen is a university lecturer at the School of Business and Law, University of Agder. He holds a master's degree in finance from Strathclyde University in Glasgow in 2003, where he specialized in insider trading at the Oslo Stock Exchange, portfolio theory, and option theory.

He has worked in the fixed income department at Norges Bank Investment Management, served as the head of back office at Agder Energi, and worked as the managing director at Konsesjonskraft IKS, an inter-municipal company responsible for managing concession power for the 20 municipalities and county municipalities in Agder entitled to concession power. Currently, he works at Sparebanken Sør as the assistant brokerage manager in Markets.

Håkonsen has always appreciated the connection between business and academia and started as a part-time lecturer at the BI Norwegian Business School in Oslo in 2003. From 2011 to 2015, he worked full-time as a lecturer at BI Kristiansand and was honored as the Lecturer of the Year at BI Kristiansand. He places a strong emphasis on effective communication of the subject matter, linking it to well-known and current topics for the students. He is known for his above-average enthusiasm for using Excel.
