Insurance/health in USA:
The US requires that all international students can document that they have an approved American health insurance. UNO requires that all students purchase either United HealthCare (UHC) Health and Dental Insurance plan (information regarding prices) and more information about UHC on UNO’s webpage, or International Student Insurance (ISI), Select or Elite Plans (the price will vary based on age and length of stay.) UNO recommends you purchase UFH if you have any chronic diseases or any sickness that you are currently receiving treatment for. If not, ISI Elite plan should be enough. This is a decision you must make on your own. It is mandatory that you purchase one of these types of insurance, as no other insurance will be accepted. Note that these insurances cover all costs within health and illness but does not cover costs related to travel insurance, such as delays and theft. If you chose to purchase travel insurance, you should purchase additional insurance via ANSA. This is not required. It is a good idea to check the options via ANSA or your own insurance company.
Some universities my also require that students can document their vaccination status. You will receive more information if this is required
