Curtin University is located on the outskirts of Perth, Western Australia.
The university has a total of about 50,000 students (distributed across all campuses) from over 130 countries, of which about 16,000 are international.
Curtin ranked in the top 1 percent in the academic ranking of world universities in 2017. It was also ranked the 22nd university in the world of universities established within the last 50 years in the QS World University Rankings 2018.
Curtin is one of five Australian universities in the Australian Technology Network (ATN). This group of innovative universities are working with industry and governmental partners to deliver practical results through focused research.

Perth is an international city with approximately 2 million inhabitants. You can enjoy the national parks, mile-long beautiful beaches, concerts, sporting events and visits to many of the beautiful small towns both south and north of Perth. The small suburb of Fremantle (20 minutes outside Perth) has been named one of the world's top 10 cities by Lonely Planet in 2016.
Tuition
UiA normally has one free spot per academic year. Students who do not benifit from the free spot will have to pay tuition fees of approximately 10800 AUD per semester.
Credits and Modules
Students must take 4 units per semester (100 credits per semester). Each course usually corresponds to 25 credits (or 1 unit). It is important to check that the courses you wish to take are offered in the relevant semester. “Units” (course) vary with the following value: 100-399 for bachelor's level and 500 and upwards for master's level.
In addition the ordinary courses, you also have the opportunity to sing up for International study abroad - Community Service, which includes an internship 1 day per week. The course focuses on understanding the Australian society, combined with open discussions and presentations focusing on issues related to Australia.
Curtin University also has its own Centre for Aboriginal Studies, they offer many courses where you can learn more about indigenous peoples. This is a unique opportunity to learn more about Australia's history and culture.

Admission
You need 4 in English from Norwegian high school to get admission at Curtin. Other requirements might apply to student with different high school diplomas.
You must be registered for a study programme at UiA and have completed a minimum of 60 ECTS credits in order to go on exchange. See UiA's admission requirements.
Notice!: Some students have to undergo an additional health check. This costs approx. NOK 2-3000 and can only be done by selected doctors (so-called Panel Physicians) in Oslo and Bergen (as of 2018).
