NB. From 9 January 2023, all parking spaces will cost 20 kr/h. To pay NOK 10 for daily parking, students and staff must download the app Apcoa Flow and add UiA 'Parking benefit'.
Campus Grimstad has approximately 500 available parking spaces.
Nearly 3500 students and close to 300 employees are working on Campus Grimstad. Therefore, UiA recommends both employees and students to walk or use bicycles or public transport. This also has positive environmental and health effects.
The area around Campus Grimstad has regulated parking. Parking is only allowed in designated spaces. And parking on public roads near a junction or a bend in the road is prohibited

The parking fee is 20 kr/h every day of the week and at all hours of the day. Staff and students get a reduced price in P2, P3, P4, P6 and P7 if they have added 'Benefit parking' in the Apcoa Flow app and pay using the app.
Disabled parking is free everywhere on campus with valid proof.
Benefit parking for staff and students
The Apcoa Flow parking app is the only valid parking ticket that will give you a discount on the parking fee.
Once you have created a user and entered your car number, you can add benefit parking. You find this in the ‘Menu’ in the top left corner, press ‘Parking benefit’ and select ‘Universities and colleges’ and find the University of Agder. You must log in via Feide to verify that you are a student/employee at the university.
Once you are registered, the registration is valid for a year, and you will get a reminder when it is time to renew the registration. The registration only gives you a reduced price and is not considered a payment!
You can enter several cars in the app, but only one car can be active at a time. If you switch between different cars, you MUST remember to switch cars in the app as well.
Motorcycles and mopeds
Motorcycles and mopeds have to park in separate motorcycle spaces near parking area P1 – in front of the main entrance.
These spaces are not subject to a parking fee – i.e. they are free of charge. If you park your motorcycle or moped in an ordinary parking space, you are charged the same fee as for a car.
Parking fine
Cars parked in a manner that violates the parking rules will be fined, NOK 600 currently - or NOK 900 currently if the car is parked in a space reserved for movement-disabled with a parking permit.
The maximum parking duration is 14 hours per day. If you leave the parking area after paying, you can return without paying a new parking fee within the 14 hours, assuming you have not cancelled your parking in the app and are parking in a space with the same rate as the one you left.
The parking fee for the relevant parking area applies for every day of the week and at all hours of the day.
One parking area at Campus Grimstad is reserved for employees. This area is not subject to a parking fee and is gated. The gate can be opened with an employee card.
Parking fine - complaint
UiA has engaged Apcoa to manage parking.
Apcoa fines violations of parking rules and is also the appellate authority. Apcoa handles all parking fine complaints - which means that any question or concern must be submitted via the Apcoa system. On the Apcoa website About Fines, you will find information and contact details.
If you think that a fine has been incorrectly issued, you are entitled to make a complaint. The time limit for submitting a complaint is three weeks from the fine date. The complaint must be submitted in writing. The easiest way to do this is by using the electronic complaint form found on www.kontrollavgift.no.
Questions regarding the fine can be directed to customer service: Arvato Finance AS, avd. parkering, Postboks 331 Sentrum, 0101 Oslo, tel +47 22878990 or via Apcoa (EuroPark), tel: +47 22057500 (option 2). A fine that has been disputed, assuming that the time limit for complaints stated in chapter 9, section 44 have been upheld, cannot be sent to debt collection until the legitimacy of the fine has been decided. The right to make a complaint is valid regardless of whether the complainant is assisted by a lawyer or similar.
Apcoa's controlling activity is performed for a set cost. Income from fines and parking go directly to UiA and is used for operating and investing in parking facilities and for environmental efforts, cf. UiA Board’s resolution in item 101/16 (Norwegian only).
Electric cars – parking and charging stations
Electric cars must pay ordinary parking fees. This also applies when they are parked in a space with a charging station.
Campus Grimstad has 16 charging stations. Six charging stations are in the P2 car park, six charging stations are in the P3 parking area south of the buildings, and four charging stations are in the P4 employee parking area.
The parking spaces with charging stations are reserved for cars that need charging. Other cars must park in the regular parking spaces. When charging is completed, the car should be moved to a regular parking space.
Disabled parking
UiA has parking spaces reserved for those who are movement-disabled.
These spaces are indicated by HC symbols and signs in parking area P1 – in front of the main entrance. For parking on a HC-marked space, an officially approved parking permit must be visible in the car’s windscreen or on its dashboard. Parking at UiA for those who are movement-disabled is regulated by the Regulation on parking permits for movement-disability - "Forskrift om parkeringstillatelse for forflytningshemmede" (in Norwegian only).
Disabled parking is free of charge.
If you break your leg or become temporary movement-disabled in another manner, please contact tilrettelegging@uia.no to check if you can get a temporary permit to use disabled parking.
